An old doll

While cleaning out bookshelves, sorting papers and books...yes all the stuff people are doing when the weather is grey and spring and the next trip to somewhere hot is still not on the agenda.
Anyway while doing all that I took a closer look at my very old doll which is living with me forever and before that belonged to my mother and grandmother. For the first time I noticed her beauty...nothing of the artificial sweetness of todays dolls (or Barbies).

Her face is that of a real child.

Having survived for more than a 100 years she looks a bit haggard!

  1. The lines on her face give her character and show the love she has received over the many, many years. What a treasure to have! So glad you photographed her for us all to see :)

  2. OMG. She is so beautiful. I've been on the lookout for a doll just like this...and I can't wait to come across her one day, adopt her and bring her home. I have so many plans for her. Thank you for sharing your little one. So precious.
