Midweek Portrait Gallery

Mother and daughter waiting at a bus-stop at the border of Gujarat to Rajasthan. The traditional dresses are very different from other parts of India. Mostly beautifully embroidered and and colorful with little mirrors. The men in the background are so very dull in comparison and were quite disappointed that we were not in the slightest interested in them.

The daughter finally approached us while the mother remained suspicious...

We observed this scene at the same bus-stop.Women carrying heavy cement! sacks while men are just standing by...All done in their nice dresses with the scarf ( called odhni or dupatta) thrown across their heads.
