Paris in August is great ! Most of the inhabitants flee the big city and spend the month in Cannes,St.Tropez or Biarritz ( my guess!). Avoiding the tourist spots one can find streets with (almost ) no traffic, restaurants have free tables and the waiters are more relaxed. Unfortunately many shops are closed as well ...which made husbands day even brighter!
