Song - Ography , "Both Sides Now"

Like these old tin boxes I have seen rosier times...I am on the darker side of the " Both Sides Now". Once these boxes held fresh biscuits or pasta...flour to bake a cake. Now dented and rusty they still are beautiful and with a long history, if only they could talk! I hope to age as gracefully as these boxes, maybe some dents, wrinkles and yes a bit rusty ....as long as I have a good relationship with my hairdresser and his coloring skills!

  1. Who says the flip side has to be the darker side? I kinda feel it lightens us up, less burdens to others and more focus on ourselves (that's my story and I'm sticking' to it :) ). As long
as we have a good hair dresser on our side, we can be full of illusions ourselves! Those tins are beautiful pieces of art! The stories I'm sure they could tell. Thanks for linking up to Song-ography.

  2. You are right Kathy, maybe not darker but definitely more tiresome.....and don't forget the rising maitenance costs!

  3. I don't see it as the darker side, however, I do notice friends who constantly harp on "getting older". I don't feel that way either, but obviously I do need more hair colouring these days!

  4. What a wonderful collection. I like how you tied them to your plans for future-aging gracefully and with character. Great reflection on the song

  5. Love these tins! They are gorgeous! Aging is tricky isn't it! Requires alot of maintenance in so many ways

  6. I think you touched a very positive aspect of the flip-side - a good hairdresser and the mentality to remain young at heart and embrace the beauty of age - the dents/wrinkles/rust. Lovely boxes/tins.

  7. Those tins are lovely even with their dents and chips and I think as we age we are still lovely to with all our wrinkles, gray hairs etc...it's just the parts that hurt more as we age that bother me.

  8. These are lovely tins! They have been on both sides -- new and old. But to me, the old, with dents and dirt, is so much more fascinating. Your photos show the character of these tins. And yes, a hair dresser can take some of those years off us, I agree!

  10. What beautiful tins...I think they're prettier now than when they were new. The colors are richer, with a wonderful patina that was missing before. Kind of like us as we age, right? :)

    Thank you for sharing!

  11. such beautiful aged tins. I too hope that I could age as gracefully. Some people may think I am nuts...but I LOVE grey hair...especially the "salt and pepper" look. And it does save alittle on the maintenance...giggle
