World on Tuesday

Chinon in France in deep slumber during the winter months comes back to life in the spring with the arrival of the swallows and the first tourists.
Apart from a medieval castle which was a residence of the kings of France and England (!) it has small winding roads, a flea market, restaurants and a stepping stone on which Joan of Arc mounted her horse….

  6. The first shot is just beautiful... love the climbing colorful flora! I had to look up Chinon (never heard of it before). It reminds me a lot of Montargis, where my mother-in-law lives. Lo and behold, it is quite close to her in the Loire Valley. Will have to visit there one day :)

  8. Hi! Nice captures. The first photo is very beautiful. Do you mean the The Norman Conquest of England? I learned it in junior high school very very long years ago. Thanks for sharing.

  11. Kann man Heimweh nach einem Ort haben, an dem man nur ein paar Stunden verbracht hat? Wunderschön, vorallem das Foto mit den Blumen im Vordergrund.
