Bora - Bora ! A tiny tropical island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean .( One has to change planes on Tahiti, before that in Los Angeles, before that in London , starting the trip in Geneva / Switzerland )
Upon arrival I was hoping for an exotic stamp in my passport …no such luck ! Bora - Bora is an oversea collectivity of France!
In the centre of the island is the extinct volcano with two peaks Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu.
The water in the lagoon is of the bluest blue…
Off to do some snorkeling.
A friendly encounter.
The main source of income is the tourist industry. The roughly 8000 people who live permanently on the island live of what they can obtain from the sea and the many coconut trees.

Seems the perfect place to recharge the batteries.

ReplyDeleteThe blue of the water practically glows. I would love to stay in one of those over-the-water bungalows.
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING! And I wouldn't have guessed it belonged as part of France. :)
ReplyDeleteReally a beautiful place!
Was für ein Türkis. Gehört zu Frankreich? Hm, liegt irgendwie trotzdem am anderen Ende der Welt.
ReplyDeleteTrue paradise! I really wish to spend a few days leaving in that beach bungalow right now! :)
