Driving back from the village to the lodge one evening a curious family of elephants came up to greet us.
They came very close! We were thrilled!
We entertained each other for a good 30 minutes...
...until they decided to head off into the opposite direction.

ReplyDeleteFantastic shots of the elephants. Black and white works so well for the texture and wrinkles of their skin.

I'm sorry to ask out of ignorance, but is there really no risk of injury getting so close to these beautiful giant creatures. I'm in awe... I'm certain now life wouldn't be complete without seeing them like this, up close, one day!
ReplyDeleteGroßartig. Ich hoffe, das war das 300er Tele, sonst sieht das wirklich ziemlich gefährlich aus.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Catherine, you are so brave and/or have a super dooper zoom! Love these shots - the ears in motion in the last photo made me smile!
