Children

Every child, independent of their gender or background, should have the opportunity to learn in a safe and stimulating environment. Playing, learning, trusting, thinking and being guided gently, all the things we take for granted in our society is often missing in the poorer parts of our world.
Education helps to get children out of poverty and gives them hope.
How can men walk into a school to massacre over 100 children, the youngest being 2 years old?

  1. Is there any explanation or justification for such a cruel and unhuman crime?

The only thing a can assume is: it was a reaction to similiar crimes committed by the soldiery to the families of the Taliban many times before. But we didn't get any infrormation about it in the media.

But at the end there's no excuse for such a massacre, it's more than the worst sort of crime . It's a human tragedy.

  3. What beautiful and touching portraits and snapshots of the children that you've encountered throughout your travels. Children, regardless of what country, totally have my heart. All I can say is that I'm a firm believer that these killers' time will come one day. One day they too will suffer.

  6. Beautiful portraits! You really caught the spirit of the children. :)

PS: My new apt is in Wilmersdorf. If you come to Berlin, let me know. We could meet up for some Kaffee und Kuchen. Or something harder, if you prefer. :)
