Monday Macro / Makro Montag


I finally managed to find my favourite Buddha statue. It was love at first sight when I discovered him in an crumbling temple with no roof and stones blocking the entrance. A magical place in Myanmar which is, due to robbery and lack of security, not going to be there very much longer. People just steal the heads of Buddhas from the pagodas to be sold either to tourists or on the international art market.

    Wie schade, dass die Diebe nicht einmal vor heiligen Dingen halt machen. Aber dein Buddha, der ist wirklich der Hit. Und wenn ich mir vorstelle, wie drumerherum aussieht ... genau richtig!

    Sehr schöner Buddha, Karen. Wenn mir mal ein Prachtexemplar vor die Linse kommt, versuche ich ihn auch festzuhalten. Mein Lieblingsbuddha steht in Kamakura, Japan. Und wird vermutlich so schnell kein Opfer von Dieben...

    love your buddha!!! They all have such interesting faces, don't they? It's devastating to think of all the theft...so sad.... Thanks for sharing your amazing find!

    Wow! Ein tolles Foto. Buddhas haben immer etwas beruhigendes für mich, und auch immer etwas fröhliches. Beeindruckend was alles von Hand hergestellt wurde.
