The rain came late this year in Kenya. The riverbed and its beautifully shaped rocks were well exposed. Wild animals and farmers with their cattle had a hard time finding water.
A couple of days after we left the rain set in and the river started to flow again.
water can make great patterns and forms. nice b&w pictures.

ReplyDeleteIf there can be an upside to a drought it is that it exposes some beautiful natural architecture / design. I am glad to read that the rain did come.
ReplyDeleteI love these in B&W!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured juxtapositions!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and creative BW shots of the wonderful rocks!
ReplyDeleteHappy Week to you,
artmusedog and carol
So beautiful. You are the master of black and white...
ReplyDeleteZuerst habe ich wirklich gedacht, das erste Bild zeigt Kunst. Aber dann ist es umso schöner zu lesen, dass das die Natur gemacht hat! Schöne Bilder!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Nicki above...if there's an upside to drought...you found it and nailed gal!
ReplyDeleteI always find it amazing that water is so powerful. Your photos are quite wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWow - very dramatic. Love the combination of rock and wood. So much texture. Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThat rock does look like a sculpture. The b w really brings out the starkness of the desert river bed.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rocks! They look so smooth in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteStimmt, das ist wirklich mehr eine Skulptur als ein Stein. Sieht richtig cool aus!
ReplyDeleteHat das Wasser denn auch filmreif gerauscht, als es endlich kam?
Sagenhaft.
