Midweek Portrait Gallery

Badami cave temples in Karnataka / India. This beautiful carved couple forms a pillar frieze and is positioned at one of the entrances to one of the cave temples. I like the tenderness in this sculpture and admire the craftsmanship. This work was done in the late 6th to 7th centuries! 



They do seem to be a little impassive...no surprise after all this years.
