To catch some last rays of sunshine we went south for a long weekend. South in our case means France and the Mediterranean or more precise Antibes at the Cote d`Azur. Antibes is not far from Cannes that is the place with the film festivals in May. No film stars for us but the most wonderful sunshine and many things to discover.
A sculpture by Jaume Plensa called "The Nomade" overlooking the harbour.
The artist became famous in the 1980s with his large forms which he creates out of cast iron.
Here he used just letters to create the 8m high sculpture.
And no cloud in sight.....
Wow, what the amazing sculpture!! Great find to share with us..

Such a clever sculpture. Glad you took the close ups so we can see how the individual letters make up the whole.
ReplyDeleteReally well done!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an amazing work of art!!! Thanks so much for sharing your travels!
ReplyDeleteThat's a real original art work !
ReplyDeleteLove it! Gosh how amazing and lovely to get a sense of how vast the sculpture is by just being able to see the people through it. That sky is so blue without a cloud in sight on the close ups. It looks like a perfect day...
