Have you heard of "panning"?

I must admit that I had a vague idea what it is but no idea how to do it! For those who are as clueless as me,  here is the basic explanation : It is all about photographing moving subjects! Sounds easy? Trust me - it is not! A friend of mine told me: You can do it -took me downtown Geneva and 4 hours later and after approximately 600 shots here are the best of the day:







....I will need a lot of practicing before I will master the art of "panning"!

  1. Great job! OMG...I've yet to even get to your level of panning!! I do try often...but doesn't seem to be my "gift!" Yet! Ha!

  5. die sind doch super geworden, gut - du das die anderen 594 nicht gezeigt, aber ich bin begeistert. Vllt. werde ich mich auch mal am panning versuchen, nur hier auf dem platten Land ist das mit der Bewegung wirklich etwas schwierig - grins ...

  6. Neat! It's a lot of fun, but it is tricky as the shutter speed changes based on how quickly the object is moving. I like to use a monopod to hold the camera. I like the motobike the best.
