Midweek Portrait Gallery

A beautiful shy smile caught my attention while traveling in Gujarat /India. The dress code in Gujarat is different from other parts on India. Their dresses are often colorfully embroidered with many little attached mirrors. The blouse is often bare -backed over which they wear a "Duppatta", a long scarf which is used as a veil.
The red bindi ( round red powder shape on the forehead) was only used by married women in the past. Nowadays it is more like a fashionable accessory and can be bought in the form of little stickers.

  2. You certainly have an adventage as a female photographer to shoot girls and ladies from India. For me it'll be not that easy to get a smile from a shy lady like the one you made a portrait of.

    Have a great week, Karen!
