Midweek Portrait Gallery

A childhood in India is mostly very short and children, especially girls, are expected to help either at home or on the fields. It is very different from the mostly pampered upbringing of the children in our Western culture.

  2. Sad state of affairs. These children are so bright and usually eager to learn, but don't have the time or money to go to school.

  3. Ja, tolle Bilder ... und schön zu wissen, dass Du mit dem Aufbau Deiner Bücherei dazu beiträgst, dass sich die Dinge verändern.

  5. excellent captures. The children in our western culture couldn't last a day in that environment. I was so in awe when I visited India.

  6. So true. Having spent months in India I believe a balance of both is good. Love the little child's feet - great photo!
