I spotted this dolphin on Kiawah Island /South Carolina one summer .
It is fascinating to watch the dolphins propelling themselves up onto the beach ...
...out of the water to catch the little fish which have been pushed onto the riverbank.
It is called strand feeding and this dolphin seems to have hit the jackpot looking at the amount of fish he managed to bring ashore.

Cool. I've seen it on TV, but never in person.
ReplyDeleteLove Kiawah! It's been so many years since I've been there....fabulous captures! Love that last one - my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I've only seen this on nature shows. How amazing it must really be to witness in person. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful shots. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteSchöne Aufnahmen!
Gruß, Uwe.
Such great captures Karen! Must have been wonderful to see this "live" in person. There's nothing more spectacular than the natural world...
ReplyDeleteWahnsinn, vorallem das letzte Foto!
ReplyDeleteI've only got to watch dolphins in the wild a couple of times in my life - but I could watch them all day!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Karen.
Wie schön! Traumhafte Fotos! :)
ReplyDeleteWünsch dir noch einen schönen Sonntag!
