No, this is not Cecil but one of his cousins who enjoys a protected life in a conservancy. As did Cecil which did not prevented him from being hunted and killed.
Lions are known as one of Africa's most iconic animals and today there are fewer than 30.000 lions left living in the wild.
They need to be protected!
Ein Prachtexemplar! Deine Aufnahme und das Tier, grandios!
ReplyDeleteVery well said. And a great photo.
ReplyDeleteExcellent...

Such an appealing, beautiful face. If only these grand animals could be left to enjoy life in a world where they should be.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! True words - They need to be protected!

ReplyDeleteI agree.

FRANKLY MY DEAR
Couldn't agree more! Amazing capture with your lens...the only way they should be captured! The killing of Cecil was horrific...the day will come for that loser.
ReplyDeleteMajestic animals, the Cecil story was such a sad one. They do indeed need to be protected, sadly along with many other animals like rhinos. Wake up world!

Beautiful shot. I was not happy about the way Cecil was killed.

ReplyDeleteI find sport hunting like this disgusting. Poor, poor Cecil and all of his cousins.
ReplyDeleteLove this portrait. This should be the only kind of animal "shooting" allowed.
Ein sehr schönes Foto, hoffentlich hat er ein langes Leben.
ReplyDeleteWonderful portrait of the lion and yes wildlife needs protection
