Our World Tuesday

Zambia

Every year between October and December the Kasanka National Park in Zambia/Africa witnesses the annual migration of  straw-colorer fruit bats.
They are attracted by the trees and their fruits of the surrounding area.

There are not just a couple of them but up to 10 million bats which fill the air with the sounds of their wings and their voices. Here they are on there way back in the early morning to settle in the trees of a small swamp area to sleep during the day.

Are you hanging comfortably?

The biggest migration of mammals in the world and one of the least known.

Just before the sun rises the last bats are settling for the day .

Die Fotos hätte ich auch gerne geschossen. Aber einer muss ja zu Hause bleiben und die Wirtschaft voranbringen... ;-)
