Monday Murals

Wall Mural of the National Museum in Tirana/ Albania

This mural is found above the entrance of the National History Museum in Tirana.
It is probably one of the best known monuments of the city and
a fine example of the socialist-realist art of the communist period.

It shows Albanians fighting against foreign invaders throughout their history starting with the Illyrians, the Turkish, the partisans during WW2 and the era under the communist regime of Hoxha.
Before the end of the communist period a red star was prominently placed on the red flag.

  2. It couldn't miss. A revolutionary mural. The only thing that gives it away thats in the region of the Mediterranean is the mosaic. Otherwise it could be a Diego Riviera from Mexico. Still it looks great.
