Church of the Ten Lepers
The church is also called Saint George`s church and is one of the oldest churches in the world.
According to the new New Testament it was here that Jesus crossed the village on his way from Galilee to Jerusalem and healed 10 lepers.
The origin of this church goes back to Byzantine era and was constructed inside the cave where the miracle happened.
I am not a religious person but this little church was fascinating from a historical point of view.
A true little gem.

ReplyDeleteIt is quite amazing to think how long this church has been functioning! How awesome.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is fascinating. I bet it's cold.
