A stroll through Hampi

I like the dynamics in this picture and the small cloud which seems like smoke coming out of the boulder.

This chariot dedicated to the god Garuda was carved out of one block of stone.

Dramatic landscape. But unbearably hot and humid, looking for shade and shelter became one of our most important aims.

We were very upset about the destruction on this block. This is a house were a family lived and worked. We have no idea where these people are now or what they are doing.

And despite it all there is so much beauty . We discovered this exquisite carving in a temple off the       beaten track.

An almost biblical scene...a shepherdess walking home, appearing strong and confident.

Coming closer she looks at us suspiciously...what must she be thinking?
