Midweek Portrait Gallery

The sculpture represents people from different eras and ethnic backgrounds who came to the USA via New York.
Almost 14 million immigrants arrived in New York between 1886 and 1924 ( Google). Imagine the despair and shattered dreams which made this people leave their home  countries.
The sculptor is Luis Sanguino and was donated by Samuel Rudin who`s parents emigrated to the States in the late 19th century.
