Our World Tuesday

Myanmar - the land of  ten thousand Buddhas. I could have taken pictures of every one of them …but that would take years. Buddhism is a very old religion and was first taught in India between the 6th and 4th centuries BC. Talking to a farmer about Buddhism he put it very simply : It is about cause and effect! You do good and you will receive good , you do bad and you will receive bad! 
Anyways…here is a small selection of some pictures.

    It sounds like a good philosophy, religion or not. you do a Nice line in Buddhas.

    Buddhas, buddhas, buddhas...
    ...Myanmar seems to be an 'ocean of Buddhas' - and at each temple they look different.
    Thanks for sharing your wonderful photographs, Karen. There's not too much time in the afternoon for me to travel to Myanmar and capture my own impressions... ;-)

    The German spring sun is shining - what more could a heart desire! ;-))

    Wonderful....my son collects them.
    And my husband has a wooden Ho Tei [a kind of Buddha right?] statue that I bought for him at an import store for our first Christmas. He rubs his belly often.
