Newborn cubs stay hidden for one to two months before they are shown to the pride (a group of lions).
They stay with their mothers for around two years before they start to hunt with the rest of the group.
These half grown youngsters enjoyed the warmth of the early morning sun.

ReplyDeleteWonderful capture! Thanks also for those factoids... I didn't know that they are not shown to the pride until 1-2 months after birth.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the 1 - 2 month mark is when they are out of danger from "crib death" or whatever that is called for lions. ;-)
